I am a multidisciplinary artist, musician, and PhD candidate in anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, where I am an affiliate with the Center for Experimental Ethnography. I use multimedia and documentary arts to build collaborative knowledge with my community and audience. I am always exploring new modalities of research and creativity, and in the past I have made art books, pirate radio stations, costumes, card systems, zines, sound installations, drawings, archival exhibitions, documentary films, and more.
I am also a performing drummer and percussionist deeply invested in improvisation. I have studied in classical, jazz, experimental, Arabic, West African, and Afro-Caribbean traditions. I am currently a member of the bands The Early and Seven Count.
